Every organisation
must now undertake an
"assessment of the risk of fire"...
|
We also carry out full and comprehensive fire risk assessments under the Fire Precautions(Workplace) (Amendment) 1999 Regulations Risk Assessment, which came into force on the 1st of December 1999.
Every organisation must now undertake an "assessment of the risk of fire" in their premises in the same way that they undertake other health and safety assessments in order to maintain a "safe working environment for their employees" and we as a company appreciate the difficulty Management have in implementing these Fire Safety Regulations in the limited time, and limited Fire Safety knowledge available to them. If they employ five or more staff they are required to record all significant findings and be able to produce a written copy to an Officer of the Fire Authority when required.
Fire Authorities have now been given the task of enforcing the Fire Precautions(Workplace) (Amendment) 1999 Regulations throughout their Brigade areas and they could soon be visiting your premises to ensure that you have carried out your Risk Assessment, therefore please ensure that you have complied with the requirements of the act.
